This week, our colleague Demetra Orthodoxou presented ISOTECH’s work from the European project SAVEMEDCOASTS-2 at the 8th MedCLIVAR Conference in Limassol, bringing together over 150 scientists from 25 countries to advance Mediterranean climate research. 🌍
SAVEMEDCOASTS-2 focused on understanding and addressing the risks of sea-level rise in vulnerable Mediterranean coastal areas.
🤝 ISOTECH’s contribution put local stakeholders at the centre of the conversation. Through participatory processes in four coastal areas across Italy, Spain and Greece, we gathered stakeholders’ perspectives on sea-level rise, identified their concerns and helped connect local knowledge with scientific research and coastal risk assessment.
Five years on, this work remains highly relevant to the Mediterranean’s ongoing efforts to adapt to climate change and strengthen coastal resilience.
