Excited to share that Isotech Ltd’s latest article is now published in Frontiers in Marine Science, contributing to the European conversation on marine litter governance. 🌍

Our latest peer-reviewed article, co-authored by Demetra Orthodoxou and Xenia Loizidou, explores a critical question:

How can Europe move from fragmented marine litter responses to a truly preventive, circular and enforceable policy framework?

📖 Read the full open-access publication here: https://www.frontiersin.org/…/fmars.2026.1810562/full

Titled “Navigating marine litter governance: loopholes and strategic recommendations for the EU policy framework”, the paper analyses key European and international legislation related to marine litter prevention, plastic pollution and waste management, identifying structural and implementation gaps that continue to undermine progress despite ambitious policy targets.

The paper also draws on extensive stakeholder engagement and field experience developed through the SeaClear1 & 2.0.

Marine litter requires stronger policy frameworks, circular innovation and science-driven action capable of transforming the systems that produce pollution in the first place!
