As part of Terrasafe , Isotech’s symbiotic circular green-waste management and composting scheme has been selected for pilot implementation in Cyprus and Tunisia. From 27–31 October, our team travelled to Kebili, Tunisia to connect with local communities and partners and bring our innovation closer to reality. ✈️
During the visit, we:
👥 Met with Tunisian Pilot Area Partners (Arid Regions Institute – IRA) and local stakeholders.
🏭 Visited a compost production facility to explore current practices and collaboration opportunities.
🌾 Engaged with farmers, livestock breeders, and community leaders to understand local challenges and needs.
We discussed:
🚜 Challenges faced by local farmers
♻️ Current practices for managing prunings and goat manure
🌱 Local needs in waste management and soil improvement
💡 How a community-based composting scheme can produce low-cost, high-quality compost
These discussions are guiding the mapping of substrates, stakeholders, and local infrastructure, a key step in implementing our innovation effectively.
A heartfelt thank you to the Institut des Régions Arides IRA Médenine and everyone involved for their warm hospitality and active engagement!
The project is co-financed by the European Union under the Horizon Europe Framework Programme.
