Description: ISOTECH provided independent environmental consultancy and technical support to the Municipality of Idalion regarding the proposed construction of the Olympus Foods (Cyprus) Ltd cheese production facility in the Tseri Industrial Area. The study involved a detailed technical review of the project’s Environmental Report, focusing on potential risks to the health, safety and quality of life of residents in the neighbouring Idalion residential area. Particular attention was given to wastewater treatment and management, odour emissions, noise pollution, biogas safety and environmental monitoring. ISOTECH identified potential environmental risks and proposed preventive measures, monitoring procedures and operational safeguards to minimise nuisance and environmental impacts. The assessment aimed to support informed decision-making and establish a framework for cooperation between the municipality, the developer and the relevant environmental authorities to ensure the facility’s safe and environmentally responsible operation.
